My hometown is a small province in Republic of Karelia namely Olonets. The most awesome thing happened to Olonets was the Fortress, which had been unfortunately burned down twice in early XVIII century. Nevertheless, the Fortress is still the most valuable sight even though it cannot be seen.

Karelian name of the town is Anuksenlinnu which literally means The fortress of Olonets. Olonets once was a capital of Karelia but as it often happens, the town helped another towns and cities around to become bigger and then was forgotten. Everyone who can do anything better than harvesting potatoes leaved the town to find a better job in bigger cities.Today in Olonets live about 8K people and there's nothing to do there. But i still love it so much, and i work for free to make this graphic design for Republic Day which is hosted in Olonets in June 10.
