Search Bar With Autocomplete

An autocomplete feature that offers related queries beyond explicit text matches. Here, "frozen f" offers the autocomplete "frozen fruit" then lists 3 queries related to "frozen fruit" which do not match the user's input text but are relevant nonetheless.

The thought here is that while users may search in broad terms ("frozen fruit") they may have a more specific intent in mind, such as frozen blueberries. Or, the user may be issuing a broad query because they do not know explicitly know what they want, but the mere suggestion of "frozen blueberries" is enough to spur their interest in the intent.

These sub-suggestions, such as "frozen pineapple" and "frozen curly fries", are based on engagement numbers for their parent suggestions. For example, "frozen f" offers "frozen french fries". The 2 sub-suggestions, "frozen curly fries" and "McCain's seasoned fries", relate to the most viewed/purchased items for the query "frozen french fries".
