C is for Cienfuegos Oilers

The Petroleros de Cienfuegos (Cienfuegos Oilers), competed in the Cuban Professional League from 1926-1949, being renamed to the Elephants after the ’49 season. In between those years they had two breaks totalling nine seasons of absence. The Petroleros represented the Cuban coastal city of Cienfuegos, however their home games were hosted in the nation’s capital of Havana. The Petroleros won five league titles and two Caribbean Series championships in their tenure.
