Three facts.

1. Today is the World DNA Day
2. Today is also World Malaria Day
3. Biggest mosquitos in the world live in Karelia.

Right where i live. We have thousands of lakes and bogs, so there are myriads of mosquitos in summertime. Luckily they don't touch me. I'm not tasty or maybe they are used to local blood.

So it's mosquito for today. Obvious choice according to those three facts. In Karelian there are two words for mosquitos: čakku & pin'oi. I don't know what's the difference, guess this is a matter of dialect.
