3d iPhone close-up

Here's a close-up of an image I rendered for my portfolio.

The idea was to show the tech stack in layers, with design at the top, then front-end code, back-end code, and databases at the very bottom.

The most challenging part was trying to think of how to depict front-end code vs back-end code. I decided to show front-end code as a literal representation of what a text editor looks like, and back-end code as a labyrinth. The thought behind that was when you're programming the back-end, you're setting up rules and writing directions for a machine to follow. This spawned the idea of walls and paths, which evolved into a labyrinth.
