Game No. 017

Despite the Orioles’ All-Star closer being on the DL, Baltimore’s pitching staff had a nice night on the mound, preventing the visiting Red Sox from scoring and picking up their seventh win in nine games. The story of the night though was O’s slugger Manny Machado’s last slide into second base in the eighth inning, spiking Dustin Pedroia’s calf and sending the Red Sox second-basemen limping off the field.
