Day 3 - 30 Days of Websites - Made & Town Concept

For this week's edition of Website Wednesday, I designed a fictional online marketplace - "Made & Town" - that makes it easy to shop local ✨. Featuring more bad copy by yours truly.
.
While I really like the idea of "shop local" I've always had a hard time discovering local brands. I feel like the only way I learn about new local makers is through personal connections or by chance on Instagram and I wished there was an online resource where I could easily discover local craftsmen, read their stories, and buy their goods. Does something like this exist already?!
.
I'm envisioning a space where content and commerce come together to create a beautiful, curated space of local artists and goods. Easier said than done, I know, but hey, it's why this is a concept!
.
For the visual design, I'm using Romana as the primary typeface (really been wanting to use this for a while), editorial stock photos from @Stocksy United, and product photos from some of my favorite Bay Area brands.

Every Wednesday, for 30 weeks, I'll be creating a website concept for a fictional business. Bringing together my love for color and type yet again. Follow along here or on instagram @schmohee: #WebsiteWednesdays #30DaysofWebsites
