NPR News refresh

Been thinking a lot about how I get my news. The election in the US this last year shook a lot of people up and I was curious if there was a way design could improve the experience.

There are great news apps out there, but NPR is funded in part by our collective federal tax dollars (for now). It reasons to think that they could use a hand to update their service since it gets solid reviews for content, but could use some help in the delivery of the content.

This was an exploration of the home screen. It's a feed based interface, personalized to each user, but it peppers in content that won't just reinforce the 'echo chamber' of content that other services offer. I attempted to create a system that would work to transition existing NPR News app users to a new experience without loosing the readership.
