Jackie Robinson
Tomorrow is Jackie Robinson Day so it's a good time to remind everyone how electrifying an athlete he really was, even while facing intense racism. He was already 28 when he became the first African American to play in the MLB (in the modern era) and over the next 10 seasons he would bat .311, get on base 41% of the time, become an All-Star 6 times, and win the NL MVP Award in 1949. He also stole home 19 times, the second most in history.
