Animal cruelty sentences are a joke

It's a sad fact that the maximum sentence for fly tipping is 10 times longer than for animal cruelty and in England and Wales, we have the lowest maximum sentences for animal cruelty in Europe. Animal cruelty often pre-empts domestic violence too so stronger sentences could protect lives.
