The bench filled in for a still depleted Red Sox lineup, with Chris Young, Marco Hernández, and Steve Selsky combining for five of Boston’s seven hits. Sandy León broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning, knocking in two runs on a single to center field before Craig Kimbrel struck out three batters in the bottom of the ninth to pick up the save in his team’s 7-5 win over the Tigers.
