Logo for Open Hand, a karate and self-defense school. The Open Hand brand is designed to be strong and active without being aggressive and violent.

The Open Hand mark carries several allusions to Karate's Japanese heritage. The mark is designed to mirror a traditional Japanese hanko stamp. The entire brand (logo included) uses a grid system based on the tatami proportion as an allusion to the tatami mats traditionally used in karate dojos.
