Blue Jackets Score: March 31, 2017

Game 77 / Check out the whole project here

The sky was not on the Jackets’ side.

-Before the Jackets even got to Chicago they were facing some turbulence, literally. Their chartered jet left North Carolina’s Raleigh-Durham International Airport shortly after their Thursday's game against the Hurricanes, but the plane was forced to turn back about half an hour into the flight because of a faulty generator. Instead of having the night and morning to prepare for their game against the Blackhawks, they ended up flying out on Friday and arriving at their hotel at 1:30pm.

-The game seemed a little wonky itself. To say we are struggling on the power play would be a compliment. We haven’t scored with a man advantage since March 13th. This inability to convert is starting to seep into the rest of our play.

-The teams exchanged goals 22 seconds apart during a 4-on-4 late in the first period. This was the first time this season the Jackets have let the other team score on a 4-on-4. Ultimately, we ended the game with only one goal against the Blackhawks’ 3.

-With this win, Chicago reached 50 wins for just the second time in 90 seasons.

-The Blue Jackets have just seven goals in their last five games and Bobrovsky got his first regulation loss since Feb. 19 against Nashville.

-Tonight the Jackets finally got Sedlak back on the ice since his accident, but he left in the second period with an upper-body injury and didn't return for the rest of the game.
