Khmer New Year Card

I worked with a local letterpress Sweet Pig Press to make cards for Khmer New Year. It was done in partnership with Cambodian Mutual Association of Lowell, who gets 50% of the proceeds up until the New Year.

I was partially inspired to do this after finding a book called "Southeast Asians in Lowell" from 1985 which had beautifully set type in Khmer and other languages of that region.

The front features the phrase "Hello, New Year" in Khmer & English, along with each day of the Khmer New Year celebration below (it lasts three days, with each having it's own traditions).

The back is a bit more of an "easter egg" in that there is no English translation, but it says "Printed with love in Lowell, Massachusetts."
