Blue Jackets Score: March 28, 2017

Game 75 / Check out the whole project here

Win the face offs, win the goals, win the game.

-Living in Missouri for this past season I have had to get used to watching the Jackets via NHL.tv instead of my preferred method of in the arena (that is over 500 miles away). That being said, it makes going to actual games, like this one, so much more special and really confirms why Nationwide/CBJ is voted one of the top fan experiences in the NHL.

-But tonight the fans were a little quiet. The Jackets dominated in face offs until the third period, but still came out on top. Our ability to control the puck though was pretty lackluster.

-It felt like the Sabres were on an unannounced 45 minute power play based on the amount of time they spent in our zone. And unlike the Jackets who had 3 actual PP chances and didn’t score (actually we haven’t scored on a man-advantage since March 13) Buffalo made 1 PP goal.

-The Jackets scored first tonight when Quincy picked up a rebound and threw it back into the net. This is Quincy’s first goal as a Jacket and makes it 48 times that the CBJ have scored first in a game, second in the NHL.

-3 minutes later Jones passed Atkinson the puck on a rush and Cam slung it past the Buffalo goalie to push the score to 2-0 at the end of the first.

-Our final goal came from an empty-netter by Saad late in the 3rd when Buffalo pulled Nilsson.

-The battle continues for home-ice advantage in the playoffs next month. So let’s hope the CBJ can figure out their PP in the next 7 games.
