Game 73 / Check out the whole project here

Game Highlights:
Just couldn't connect the dots in overtime. Capitals win in the shootout.

-Even though this was a greatly anticipated game based on the two teams' positions in the standings, the first 40 mins of the game were pretty nonchalant. The Jackets and Capitals moved the puck back and forth but there wasn't a lot of excitement and the 3rd period started 0-0.

-Less than a minute into the final period Seth Jones picked up a beautiful goal off a rebound. From there the Jackets really started to pick up their skates.

-Unfortunately, before we even reached halfway, Orlov tied it up for Washington. The rest of the period was a stalemate.

-As is custom, OT was high anxiety. Both teams changed lines multiple times and play lasted the whole 5-minute block. It is moments like this when you almost hope that we push through to a shootout because Bob was so on point. During regular play he saved 44 of 45 shots.

-But that's when we really fell flat. Bob saved 2 of 3 but alas his Olympic nemesis, Oshie, was able to break his mojo and sneak one in the 5 hole. None of the Jackets scored on their haphazard attempts.

-Bjorkstrand didn't even travel to Washington after being boarded by Toronto's Roman Polak this week.
