360 Transition Test
We’ve been doing a bit more work with 360 video at work, and that got me thinking about ways to do some wipe transitions. Came up with something semi interesting, using a mix of Cinema 4D and After Effects…
I made a sort of lumpy sphere and had it twist and dissolving into tiny bits (I tested circles as well as quads), from the rear-perspective of the scene to the front. I made a few copies of that in After Effects, used that as an alpha channel for a few color layers, and added in some shadows.
Anyway, since it looked kind of cool in just its equirectangular state, I thought I’d make a loop! Hope you enjoy!
Nerdy Note: I had to distort this image quite a bit with a Bezier Warp to get it to fit the 800x600 Dribbble size and not appear *too* squished (the original animation was 3840x1920).
