Fragments

This drawing is from the back of the Pantheon. It was inspired by one of my favorite photographs that I took in Rome. While the front of the building is iconic and instantly recognizable, these fragments of marble carvings and small bricks help create a more immersive narrative for a building that feels alive. Simultaneously, they me show layers of a beginning and of a decline. Of course my favorite part is when my imagination attempts to fill in the gaps.
