Calafia

I worked with @Neil Secretario over the past year to design Calafia, a new casual script typeface. Neil is left handed, so his ‘ductus’ (stroke order and direction) is completely different from a right handed person. As a result, his forms often include moments that you wouldn’t otherwise see, and he began designing Calafia to capture those moments and bottle them up into a typeface. I worked with Neil to draw a character set that supports over 100 languages, 3 sets of caps (including one that is specifically for all-caps settings) and final forms for more natural word endings.
