One of the first questions Kevin and I got from our Kickstarter backers was "how can I setup a column grid system in Subform?"

Although we had an answer, our backers helped us realize that we needed something both easier and more powerful. Before implementing complex features, though, we always like to question our assumptions about how things should work.

This week, I took some time to document that process in two articles (and show off some of the rad grid features we ended up with.)

The first part, "Are grid systems still relevant in digital product design?", covers a brief history of grids and how their print-legacy doesn't always translate well to interface design.
