Drawing birds, difficult.
Depicting metal, very difficult.
Painting a metallic bird, you have no idea.

Attempting to capture nature's vulnerability and nimble elegance for a book cover.

Everything is done digitally here using Kyle Webster's brushes. I'm primarily comfortable using his brushes from the Drawing Box (found in his mega pack). I was going to experiment with some of the paint brushes he has but I couldn't quite get a grasp on them in order to use them for this illustration.

So I resorted back to the graphite stick and treated it like a brush and blender all in one :)
