Animated Icon Dropdown Menu

Recently the decision was made to add an in-app dropdown to make it easier for users to switch between apps in our suite of products. This dropdown contains 2 states: the first shows products you are licensed for, and the second shows other available products. To make it distinct from what you might see in a Google or Microsoft product, it's somewhat stylized and animated. Rather than prototyping the animation in an external tool like Pixate or Framer I did it directly in CSS. Be sure to check out the GIF captured from our production site.
