Field Days 2017 Promo

Super excited to share this one!

For awhile now, I have had this concept in my head of visualizing "your data, simplified" for GoSpotCheck which consisted of simplified, 3D representations of data, and capitalizing on our bright brand colors much more so than in the past. Though we help our customers collect data, our true value is helping them collect the right data, make it easy to understand, and make it actionable.

Last week, I decided GoSpotCheck Field Days 2017 (our annual user conference) was the chance to try this concept out.

Not knowing anything about "CGI" or "3D" or even what programs to use, I figured my best bet was cutting tiny shapes out of acrylic with a laser, then staging a micro photo shoot. Well 3 days ago, I discussed this whole concept and execution with one of my favorite designers, @Sean Herman , and he suggested: either do it right, or don't do it all. He had a great point that trying to create this very polished effect via laser-cut acrylic and photography would do it a disservice.

And so, I went from knowing nothing about any of this, to downloading Cinema 4D, sitting through hours of online courses, and watching free YouTube tutorials to whipping up my very first 3D scene! I have a very long way to go in learning this amazing program, but hey, for 72 hours, I'm stoked. Thanks for the suggestion Sean!
