Here's a mark I came up with for a recent client. He wanted to emphasize the essence of a sycamore tree while still alluding to a theme of technology.

My process was after a series of conversations and a questionnaire to make about a dozen or so logo concepts and then talked candidly with him about what we liked and didn't like. Then from there I developed about 6 more refined marks, and then from there we had about three marks that I mocked up in a variety of different settings until we settled on this one.
