J is for Joplin Miners
The Joplin Miners played minor league baseball for 49 years, playing their final game in '54. Joplin produced notable HOF players like Mickey Mantle and Whitey Herzog. The Miners were long time affiliates of the New York Yankees, though they did turn heel and support the Boston Red Sox in '34.
