K is for Kansas City Monarchs

The Kansas City Monarchs legacy is cemented as the longest running team in the history of Negro League baseball. They were instrumental in the foundation of the Negro Leagues in the 20s, and played their last season as independently affiliated in '65. The Monarchs won 13 league titles and two Negro World Series titles. They have eight players in Cooperstown, including Bullet Rogan, Satchel Paige, Ernie Banks, and Jackie Robinson.
