Beat 3 - Front Label

This is a die cut front label for the flagship product of a small distillery in Nashua, NH.

The overall shape is of the distiller's home county in Mississippi, Lawrence County. There are several voting districts (beats). He grew up in "Beat 3" which was supposed to officially be a dry county but lets just say... it wasn't so dry back in the 70's. Thus, the name of the liquor.

I researched back in maps of the region, including some period-specific beat maps in order to make the illustration. Since I was highlighting the name on the label, I used a retro method of map highlighting in the vertical stripes. This motif is used elsewhere on the bottle itself and related collateral.
