Margaret Hamilton

American computer scientist and software engineer Margaret Hamilton is best known for her work in developing the on-board navigation software for NASA’s Apollo space program. In 2016, at the age of 80, Hamilton was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by U.S. President Barack Obama for her contributions to science, cementing her place in history as one of the pioneering female scientists of the 20th century.
