Greeting Cards

It's been a while since I worked on any personal pieces. To wish friends and relatives good fortune during Chinese New Year (it's the Year of the Rooster in 2017), I created these cards.

I blended traditional new year elements like lanterns, fire crackers, Mahjong tiles, sycee and coins into the design, with a little more adventurous palette.

The Chinese texts are worded in very formal style (inline with Chinese traditions that are sometimes overlooked nowadays):

摯友 Intimate Friend
仁兄 Benevolent Elder Brother
長姊 Respected Elder Sister
恩師 Generous Mentor
小妹 Endearing Younger Sister
賢弟 Virtuous Younger Brother
