Strava - Logging Real and Virtual Kilometers

This is non-solicited work for Strava.

In my close-knit group of cycling friends, there is often a debate about whether to log "virtual" kms or not. If you're wondering what virtual kms are, they are distances based on rides done indoors on a trainer, calculated by an app that tracks effort, cadence, wheel speed etc. See: Zwift.

The purists believe that only real distance should be counted, while the technologists believe all time on a bike should be counted, regardless of whether it was indoors or outdoors.

My solution adds to the existing graph Strava provides on an athlete's profile, but instead off combining real and virtual into an aggregate distance, my design separates them by using different colours.

Can we all just get along now? ;)
