Abraham Lincoln

Within our modern concrete and glass office we have 11 meeting rooms – each named after a famous historical American. However, the rooms have little to no form of identification, therefore making it hard for staff to know which room they are in.

So I volunteered to create digital illustrations (in a pop art style) for each room. Every artwork clearly depicts the historical figure along with one graphical element that represents who the figure is, or what he/she is famous for.

The very first one I completed was this illustration of President Abraham Lincoln. I created two versions: one with the US flag, and another one with broken chains. I still think the broken chains ver. has a deeper meaning, but in the end the US flag ver. got the most votes.

I toned down the flag's color a little, in order to give more focus on Lincoln himself.

The artwork is printed with wood texture on glass.
