Browser.html
Six months ago I wrote a post about the browser history. I found it difficult to retrace own steps through the web, as the way we search is not linear, but geometrical.
I stated that we do not usually search for something that leads to a single result that answers our question, rather we search for terms and then explore the internet, connecting bits and pieces of the answer as we read through the web of tabs that our search starts for us.
As a possible solution, I proposed a mind map of the journey put on the timeline.
Two months later I’ve joined Browser.html, which is a Mozilla Research project aimed at building a browser user interface in HTML for the nightly builds of Servo (Experimental Browser Engine).
For last four months we’ve been exploring different approaches to the the way we browse the web. It's just the beginning of the concept, we've also designed movements around the trail(s), which I'll try to explain in next posts.
