Features page wireframe
We ended 2016 working on professional software and 2017 is starting with something totally different: a bunch of marketing sites.
We're currently doing some light layout exploration. As I've mentioned, we are no longer sticking to the standard "wireframe ➡️ hi-fidelity design ➡️ front-end" process and doing whatever makes sense in whatever tool at any time, keeping things more agile. The phase this screenshot comes from could be described as sloppy wireframing: absolutely nothing is targeted towards production. No vertical rhythm, no grids, no proper sizing and even squished placeholder icons.
We then combine this rough layout wireframe with a separate document dedicated to visual design and art direction. This way the final blend between the two happens in code, where maintaining precision happens in a much more automated and controlled way.
Skipping high-fidelity design in Sketch or Figma allows us to work about 30% faster. Code is just so much better at consistency.
PS: The floating rounded rects will hopefully become an interactive SVG illustration.
