Card sorting for website onboarding

Card sorting can be used for a variety of different reasons, not just for organizing a website's navigation. In this instance, we brought customers into the lab to get their feedback. We asked participants to put subjects in to "buckets" as to the time they would like to receive information during onboarding. For example, the buckets included, "Show me now," "Show me later" or "I never want to see this." This research helped us determine what information new users want on their first visit to the website.
