CCSD21 - Sketch Refinement

Once a sketch is selected, it's refined to make that jump to Illustrator as simple as we can make it. Usually, we leave the sketch in black and white, but occasionally we will color and shade/highlight the sketch in this phase to make sure that the design will work properly when translated.

Typically, we reserve that additional step for black or very dark animals like panthers, bears, stallions, crows, ravens, etc; where the light/dark contrast balance of the sketch isn't as indicative of the final result!
