For those who did not figure out yet, i live in Karelia. We call it "The Land of Lakes and Forests". It's obvious when you know that 85% of Karelian surface covered with forest and the rest with 60 000 lakes carved by ice of the Ice Age and later filled with glacial meltwaters. The most refreshing water ever. Especially by night.
This photograph on the background made by me on Summer '16 on Ukshozero lake. Absolutely no Photoshop. The most magical time of the year in Karelia is White Nights. That's how we call the period of late June – early July when sun sets on midnight and rise again on 3 am. Sky doesn't get dark at all. I want to move to Prague soon, and this is what i will miss a lot.
Karelian for lake is 'jarvi'. You can meet that word in many local toponyms, Suojarvi for example. And the Japanese for 'jarvi' is 湖 – Mizūmi.
