Greg Halman Tribute

A tribute to the talented baseball player from Holland, that passed away in 2011.

I tried to visualize his baseball/life motto: “No Grind No Shine” and “Baseball, my World”. The numbers symbolize his path throughout the game of baseball. Coming all the way from Kinheim in Haarlem Netherlands (team color: red), where he played with number 26, until the point in his career where he reached his goal: playing in the starting lineup of a Major League Baseball team, his team: the Seattle Mariners (team color blue/green), where he played with number 56.
In the background is an image of Safeco Field, home of the Seatle Mariners; a game where he played the Tampa Bay Rays as a center elder. The image was taken during the first pitch of the game.

The two images of Greg on the bottom and top demonstrate the five tool player that he was. Showing his great offensive and defensive skills.

Most pro ball players hit with personalized bats. I ‘carved out’ his date of birth and the date he passed away in the bats.

Only ten posters were printed and I offered the artwork to his family and close friends.
