Mountune Accessport App

Hello everyone, hope your weekend is going well!

This weekend, I decided I wanted to approach an interesting design challenge. Car tuning is a popular past time for some and the people @Mountune help make it happen. They are a motorsport company that produces speed parts for Ford Vehicles like the Focus ST/RS.

One of their most popular products is their MP275 kit that comes with an updated intercooler, cold-air intake and their famous tuning Accessport that still retains the factory warranty! With the Accessport, you can access all of your cars goody bits like gauges, boost pressure, error codes and more!

The first flaw that I found with the Accessport is that the UI looks like its straight out of the 90's. The other problem is that the device itself is a until that you have to hookup. But what about if the Accessport was all handled via you smart phone? I know their are a few issues with that, but cars are becoming smarter everyday – so it's not a far out idea. And the original device itself has clunky buttons that makes is hard to navigate the menus, etc. With this updated UI, you can easily update gauges and navigate menus with simple easy touch flows.

You could either connect via bluetooth or have some type of OBD adapter that connects to the bottom of your phone. By doing this, we reduce the amount of clutter in the car + we are able to remove the original device from the dashboard, freeing up space for just our phones.
