Head-Mounted Display For Firefighting Safety & Efficiency

Was going through my old files and i came across this late 2014 work i did for a client on a Head-Mounted Display for Firefighting Safety and Efficiency.

The idea is to use body worn sensors to track firefighters important information such as their location and their health but also the heat, CO levels and temperature of the surrounding environment in real time. HMD also shows a floorpan, location of self and escapee routes.

The firefighter can interact with the information by using intuitive hand gestures such as Swipe Left or Right to select, Swipe down to dismiss/cancel.

All this information is projected into the distance so it doesn’t distract Firefighters doing what they do best, save lives.

I’ll most likely address some UX/Design issues later and prototype some interaction.
