Hallgrimskirkja - Iceland Landmark Series

First landmark in the Iceland Landmark Series: Hallgrimskirkja.

Probably the most recognizable landmark in the country, which is why I picked it as the first for this project. It's also one of the most beautiful & unique architectures ever known.

Located in the capital city of Reykjavik, not far from downtown, it took 41 years to build from 1945-1986. The church stands at 73 meters (244 feet) and is the second tallest building in the country after Smáratorg Tower.
