Motown Music for IOS

About a year ago, I left my job in search of a more challenging endeavor. I collaborated with a friend who shared a profound passion for music, as we both felt the need to rejuvenate our connection with it.

While there was no shortage of music apps boasting impressive features, they seemed to have lost the essence of forming a genuine bond with the music. It reminded me of that overwhelming sensation when browsing Netflix or Amazon Prime for a movie, only to get lost amidst countless options. Music apps felt eerily similar.

Our aspiration with Motown was to cultivate a distinctive bond with each user. We were inspired by the personal connection depicted in the movie "Her." To us, interacting with music should mirror a classic radio experience but powered by cutting-edge technology.

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, though we did identify areas for improvement, particularly concerning music discovery and sharing. As a result, we built Motown for iOS from scratch.
