Dapper WIP

Guys, I need your feedback on this one. A logo concept for 'Dapper', a male apparel company. Did you see anything exactly like this?

Also, I'd like to know your thoughts about the design. Which one should I carry on to work with? Which one works as a logo? Is the second option readable?
