WhatsApp | Chat screen redesign

This week I've redesigned the WhatsApp's chat screen. I use this app on a daily basis to chat with friends and family. WhatsApp is the biggest messaging app here in Brazil and I decided to come up with something a bit different that would please more my needs. I find some aspects of the current Android app interface a little confusing and I would like it to be somehow more sober.

Here's my proposal:

Starting a Call: A "swiping to the right" gesture over the chat or profile image would star the call. This would speed up the calling process for more tech-savvy users.

Mute messaging: Swiping left would mute any conversation.

I moved the main navigation bar to the bottom of the screen, following Googles Material Design guidelines, making reachability with one hand easier.

This is it, guys! Please leave your feedback below in the comments.

If you like my proposal, please press "L" to show some support.
