The ubiquity and variety of e-commerce apps in China have made online shopping too easy. Each year on and after Single’s Day (November 11th), a massively successful Cyber Monday-ish shopping holiday popularized by tech company AliBaba, memes abound about chopping off your hands. The most extreme online shopping addicts are also referred to as the 剁手族 (Chop Hand Tribe).
