Robinson Crusoe Book Cover

Myself and several artists were asked to design some new book covers for ‘Rock Paper Books’ kickstarter campaign to produce 50+ reprinted classic books.

'Robinson Crusoe' was my book of choice - "the classic adventure story". Adventure stories have fascinated me from a young age, and trying to capture the epic atmosphere of a great adventure graphically is something I can really get passionate about.

For Robinson Crusoe my aim was to create more than just a bright vibrant illustration; �I wanted to evoke a dramatic, lonely but serene setting and my inspiration came from the quote that I have incorporated on the back cover. The bearded face of Crusoe can be seen incorporated into the landscape using his small cabin and some rocks as the eye, it didn't turn out as obvious as I had planned but if you can spot it, it's something you might appreciate.�
