ViewMaster

Another direction I worked on for the new rebranding of the View Master. This concept was a scientific approach to the device. The View Master actually began as photographic postcard souvenirs in the 1920s. By late 1930s, View Master brought the science of stereoscopy, was meant to be an alternate to these scenic postcards, immersing users into a spectacular 3d world. If you haven’t known how they have worked in the past—there are two film slides (two photographs of the same object, taken from slightly different angles) viewed simultaneously—one per eye. When your eyes are placed up to the device, your eyes blend together the two photos, creating an illusion of depth, known as stereoscopy. This brand direction was more scientific, a diagram of the technology expanded into marks and ideas that hint at the idea of stereoscopy.
