Landing page - search
The Goals: to create a good user experience and making it easy to search.
The Objectives: Can the user search easily? Can the user find all the information they need? Are there any stumbling blocks that the user is encountering? Any pain points?
What I did: Being new to the company I wanted to complete a usability review of the as is. From viewing user sessions, remote user testing, call center staff feedback, analytical data (fall out rate, conv. rate, exit rate, etc), I noted bugs and usability issues that could be fixed. I then produced wireframes for desktop and mobile (including interaction states). Getting group consensus that this is fixing the problems with the user journey. Progressing into the UI design of the page as shown. Also a PDF attached showing the observations and recommendations for creating a better user experience.
Further iterations: I would probably like to spend more time in the research phase, collecting more valuable information that will inform the design. In the next iteration I would like to test adding in SEO content for top locations, showing images and prices. I would also change the support content with the icons to not be discoverable and have it under each icon (damage waiver, liability insurance, etc can be complicated).
