Honeycomb clones animated with AE text layer

Trying to replicate some of the effects that can be achieved with the new "HoneyComb" mode of Cinema 4D R18 Mograph Cloner,
but here entirely in AfterEffects... with only one unique TEXT LAYER !

I created a special hexagonal glyph and other graphical ones that I transformes into a working system font, then I just typed as many characters I needed into a simple AfterEffects text layer (there is one more character on each even line, and one less in the odd lines to achieve the "honeycomb" grid effect), and turned on "3D per character".
The animation is done with an animator's expression selector of mine (speed, variation and offset can be easily tweaked in the expression) that drives the value for each clone on their rotation, stroke and fill color properties.

More to come !
