Coca de Mataró
This logo (finally not accepted by the client) depicts a late medieval Catalan trading ship known as the “coca” of Mataró. The “coca” (or “cocha“, or “cocche”) is the Mediterranean adaptation of the Northwest European cog. The “coca” of Mataró is a fifteenth century ex-voto from the Chapel of Saint Simon (ermita de Sant Simó) in a seaside town called Mataró on the coast of Catalonia. It is one of the oldest known ship models in the world.
