Since I love to travel and food I've been reading NatGeo Top Ten National Dishes from the book Food Journeys of a Lifetime. On the list is Ackee and Saltfish which is a Jamaican dish. The dish has a buttery nut flavor. Jamaicans sauté boiled scrambled eggs with saltfish, onions, and tomatoes. Despite ackee's unhappy origins as slave food, Jamaicans have claimed it as part of their national dish. A dish I'll have to try...
